Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – NRW Transport Minister Oliver Krischer (Greens) has criticized the planned acceleration law by Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) and called for improvements. “We need planning acceleration for new bike paths and not for new airports,” said Krischer on Sunday. Some of Wissing’s proposals went in the completely wrong direction and created new legal uncertainty.
The initiative will fizzle out just like the five earlier acceleration packages from the grand coalition, which in the end would not have accelerated but slowed down. “We’re not making any progress in accelerating the construction and renovation of the necessary infrastructure,” said Krischer.
According to Wissing’s plans, waterways, railway lines and airport infrastructure are to be built and expanded more quickly, as well as federal trunk roads if they are “firmly planned” or an “urgent need” has been identified for them.
