Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – Unknown persons stole several luxury watches from a shop on Düsseldorf’s Königsallee on Tuesday night. According to the police, they drove a stolen car backwards several times against the door of a side entrance and into a shop window. This shattered the window, allowing them to get into the watch shop. They took several watches from a display case and fled in the car. A helicopter search was unsuccessful. The damaged getaway car was discovered downtown on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said the damage is currently estimated at over 100,000 euros. The store was robbed a while back. At that time, the perpetrators were caught and most of the loot, worth millions, was secured. According to Serbian media, the perpetrators belonged to the criminal network “Pink Panther”.
