Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The police union (GdP) criticizes the fact that the state does not pay allowances for police operations in other federal states to the officials. For example, a surcharge of 2.04 euros per hour was agreed for assignments in other federal states, which would have to be paid on top of the usual allowances for Sunday and public holiday services. However, NRW does not pass this surcharge on to the employees, said GdP state boss Michael Mertens of the “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung” (WAZ/Friday editions).
Around 1,000 police officers from North Rhine-Westphalia were on duty at the G7 summit in Elmau, Bavaria. The allowances for the “service at unfavorable times” are in need of reform overall. Some of them have not been adjusted since the changeover from the Deutsche Mark to the euro 20 years ago. The NRW Ministry of the Interior announced a statement.
