Cologne (dpa / lnw) – After the spectacular attack on a money transporter in Cologne, the police received numerous tips. A spokesman said on Monday that information was also hoped for on the escape route of the strangers. The security guards were slowed down by two cars on Friday around 7.30 a.m. in the Marienburg district. The dark-clad perpetrators asked them to open the armored car. When the guards failed to do so, their car was shot at. The suspects made no prey, then set fire to one of their cars and fled in the second, a dark gray van. Several dozen shell casings were found at the crime scene.
A police spokesman said witnesses were being sought who saw the dark gray getaway vehicle in the south of Cologne near the roundabout and could say something about the direction of travel. In addition, the strangers had followed the money transporter before the robbery.
