Mönchengladbach (dpa / lnw) – Police officers in Mönchengladbach had to prove themselves as horse whisperers: On Wednesday morning in the city, a passer-by had discovered three obviously torn horses on a main road and informed the police. Three patrol cars and a motorcycle policeman were dispatched to capture and calm the animals, police said. The airport was also warned to prevent the horses from going onto the runway. Police were able to catch them. Then it came out: The animal trio had escaped from a nearby riding stable in Willich (Viersen district). After an hour, the owners brought the horses back to the stables.
