Kerpen (dpa / lnw) – At least three strangers blew up an ATM at a bank branch in Kerpen (Rhein-Erft-Kreis) and caused a lot of property damage. Several witnesses heard a loud bang early on Saturday morning and observed two masked people with a headlamp, the police said. They then fled in a car in which a third stranger was sitting. According to initial findings, the perpetrators made no loot. However, the explosion caused significant damage to the building. According to the police, the anteroom of the bank branch was particularly badly damaged.
