After the destruction of the previous school by a fire, plans have been approved for a new secondary school to be built in Borders.
Planning committee councilors gave the green light to the PS46m Peebles High School Project.
After a November 2019 fire, the old building sustained extensive damage.
The Scottish Borders Council approved plans to replace it despite concerns about athletics provision, and drop-off points.
After the fire, the local authority looked at a variety of options but ultimately decided that a total replacement was the best option.
These proposals were presented to the planning committee.
The scheme was unanimously approved by councillors, which should allow for work to begin in the next few weeks.
According to a planning report, the project was a significant investment in education and community facilities.
The committee recommended that the design of the school be approved.
