Ciudadanos seeks to be the party of families. The Liberals, already submerged in the pre-campaign, claimed their fight for conciliation and the recovery of time and resources by the middle classes in an act with families held this Sunday in Valdebebas, one of their electoral strongholds in Madrid.
As EL MUNDO announced this Saturday, the star measure of Ciudadanos for conciliation will be the proposal for a flexible work week that the liberals introduced in Germany several decades ago and that has established itself as a successful model, which is already being studied and testing the European Commission. The system is based on a series of fixed hours per day for meetings and internal interaction between employees, who would have the rest of the day and week to accommodate the remaining hours until completing their schedule based on their personal or family needs.
However, this is not the only proposal that the oranges claim in this regard. Patricia Guasp, political spokesperson for the formation, announced this Sunday that Ciudadanos will work if it reaches the Government to offer free education from zero to three years throughout Spain. Also that school transport, scholarships, dining room and extracurricular activities are free of charge for families.
“It is not easy when women are told to reconcile. We have experienced the reality that the reductions and leave of absence are taken by the mothers. “We do not want being a mother to penalize us,” said Guasp, who was supported by the entire leadership of Ciudadanos, as well as by the party’s main regional candidates.
Also by the deputy mayor of Madrid, Begoña Villacís, who highlighted the role that Ciudadanos plays in these moments of tension: “We seek to be happy, which is the objective of politics. Real Spain does not break, it does not divide, it does not live on conflict. We are going to do anti-politics: a Spain that shakes hands and does not live on confrontation, that does not feed on hatred.”
