The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, confirmed this Saturday Cuca Gamarra as general secretary of the PP “full time”, which means that she will soon leave the position of parliamentary spokesperson in Congress that she has combined for the last year and half.
This was announced by Alberto Núñez Feijóo during his speech at the closing of the XVII Congress of the PP of La Rioja, held at the Albelda de Iregua fairgrounds, in which the president of the autonomous community, Gonzalo Capellán de Miguel, was proclaimed regional leader of the formation, with an overwhelming majority of votes (587 of 596 cast).
“Today that I am in your house, you are going to allow me to pause for a moment on a politician who is undoubtedly a politician who, from La Rioja, has given the best of her curriculum and her experience to national politics. I am obviously referring to Cuca Gamarra,” he said.
De Gamarra highlighted that “she works harder than anyone else, that she has intelligence, that she has the capacity to work and that she knows the party and therefore with her speed and her political vocation she has shown that she is a reliable politician.”
“Cuca has been a magnificent part-time general secretary and now she is going to be an excellent full-time general secretary, therefore, she will be in charge of organizing the Popular Party with the most territorial power in our entire history,” he stressed.
