Plant Gustavo Petro from Vox on his first official visit to Spain. Those of Santiago Abascal do not participate this Wednesday in the act in Congress that has as its protagonist the president of Colombia, who will address a speech to the Plenary of the Lower House.
“The only yoke in Colombia is the one that totalitarians like Petro have imposed on their people. It is intolerable that Sánchez cede the Congressional rostrum to this subject,” Abascal himself said on Tuesday after the Colombian president charged against “the yoke Spanish” in his last speech before traveling to Spain.
Days ago, Vox already rejected the visit and announced that it would not attend the act in Congress this Wednesday. “Vox is not going to participate in any institutional act of welcoming those who are an obstacle to freedom and the development of human rights in the brother countries of Ibero-America,” the parliamentary spokesman, Iván Espinosa de los Monteros, advanced last week.
The visit of the Colombian president marks the political agenda for the remainder of the week. This Wednesday he also meets with the King and Queen at the Palacio de la Zarzuela and on Thursday he will meet Pedro Sánchez at La Moncloa.
Vox will counterprogram Petro’s visit to Congress, which will be attended by the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo: Abascal will greet the demonstrators this afternoon at a protest against the arrival of the Colombian president in the Plaza de las Cortes.
The third party in representation in Congress was already critical of Sánchez’s visit to Petro last August and has rejected the honors with which he will be received on this occasion.
