Skies will remain mostly cloudy, and showers will be on-and-off throughout Tuesday.
Higher pressure will build Thursday night and into Wednesday, which should largely bring an end to showers, especially south of Salem. The high Tuesday is expected to be 47 degrees.
The high pressure system will allow temperature to climb a bit closer to seasonal norms (average high temp for March is 56 degrees). Wednesday’s high is forecast for 50 degrees.
Wednesday night brings the best chance for some dry weather and mild temperatures. Forecasters at the National Weather Service predict all shower activity will end by later Wednesday night except possibly on the northern Oregon coast and in southwest Washington.
With the clearing Wednesday night, the threat of some valley fog diminishes and into Thursday morning.
Friday looks wet as a strong system is forecast to move into the Portland area later in the day and into Saturday. Just in time for the weekend.
