The Panthers’ offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo spoke again about Baker Mayfield on Wednesday. Mayfield joined the team in a deal with the Browns. Wide receiver Robbie Anderson also shared some of his thoughts after the deal.
Anderson wrote “Nooooo” in response to a Mayfield trade post on social media. Anderson later stated that he was just trying to defend Sam Darnold, and was thinking out loud.
Anderson is now likely to have Mayfield as his quarterback. Anderson took to Twitter to vent any resentment.
Anderson wrote, “I don’t have an issue Baker stop trying to paint that narrative.”
The Panthers would love it if Wednesday’s trade started a narrative featuring winning records and a redemption trip to the playoffs with Mayfield leading the offense. Anderson’s initial reaction to Mayfield’s idea of teaming up with him will be a small footnote in the season.
