Zittau (dpa/sn) – Seven months after a burglary in a senior citizens’ residence in Zittau, the police have now unmasked the alleged perpetrator. The 32-year-old man is said to have entered the building on the night of Easter Sunday and plundered, among other things, the refrigerator with around 100 chocolate bunnies, numerous Easter eggs, several kilograms of butter and cold cuts. As the Görlitz police department announced on Monday, he could now be arrested in connection with another crime.

According to the police, his traces were also found at the scene of the crime in the retirement home. The stealing damage was around 3200 euros at the time. At the end of October, the man had given himself a chase with the police and also rammed a police car. He was reportedly under the influence of amphetamines and was jailed.
