Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – According to the Ministry of the Interior, around 4,200 people took to the streets in Saxony-Anhalt on Monday against high inflation, the Ukraine war and the energy policy of the federal government. A ministry spokeswoman said on Tuesday that there had been a total of 42 meetings across the country. This means that the number of participants continues to decline. At the beginning of the month, the police counted almost twice as many demonstrators.

The police have initiated a total of three investigations, including for insulting a person in political life, said the spokeswoman. Otherwise, the events remained largely trouble-free.
