Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – According to the police, around 500 counter-demonstrators gathered during the visit of Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) in Magdeburg. From a police point of view, the three events registered on Thursday remained “trouble-free”, as a police spokesman said on Friday. Scholz left after his visit to the noise of whistle and shouting “Scholz has to go”.
The Federal Chancellor paid a flying visit to the Stimulate research campus at Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg on Thursday. The university staff also presented the chancellor with the medical technology they are researching. For the evening, Scholz had invited to the citizens’ dialogue in the state capital and answered questions from citizens for about 90 minutes.
