Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – With a view to the meeting of the prime ministers with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) in the coming week, the districts in Saxony-Anhalt have called for clear decisions. “In view of the rising costs of gas and electricity, instead of many individual measures, we expect an overall concept in the short term that will quickly and unbureaucratically relieve the situation,” said the President of the Saxony-Anhalt District Council, Götz Ulrich (CDU), according to a statement on Wednesday .
In a demand paper, the district council proposes, among other things, a state price cap for gas and electricity as well as financial security for municipalities and municipal companies. The federal government is also asked to give the municipalities sufficient lead time to implement application-related measures to relieve the burden on citizens. The district council also rejects the planned introduction of citizen income for financial reasons.
