Halle (dpa/sa) – Statistically speaking, every resident of Saxony-Anhalt produced 477.4 kilograms of household waste last year. That was more than in the previous year, when the amount was 473.6 kilograms per inhabitant, as reported by the State Statistical Office in Halle on Thursday. In 2021, public waste collection collected just over a million tons of household waste, 0.3 percent or 3,000 tons more than the year before.
Household and bulky waste made up the largest proportion of waste at around 42 percent, separated recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard and glass made up around 31 percent, and organic waste around 27 percent.
