Halle (dpa/sa) – The inflation rate in Saxony-Anhalt has reached a peak. In September, consumer prices in the state rose by 10.7 percent compared to the same month last year, as reported by the State Statistical Office in Halle on Thursday. The previous record value from August was thus exceeded by a whopping 2.1 percentage points. The main driver of the price increases was the expiry of government relief. For example, due to the omission of the 9-euro ticket, prices rose drastically again.
