Kalbe (dpa/sa) – Artists from all over the world come to Kalbe in the Altmark for more than six weeks to work or to present themselves and their art to the public. After the opening of the tenth International Summer Campus on Monday (July 18), the participants will implement their art projects until September 4.
According to the organizers, Künstlerstadt Kalbe, the genres represented include painting, music, film, photography, literature and media. Last year, 35 artists from twelve countries worked in Kalbe.
The highlight of the summer campus is a light art festival on September 2nd in Kalbe. Works of art are to be shown here in the old town. In addition, there will again be regular studio tours where you can look over the shoulders of the creative people. Discussions are also planned, as well as workshops, readings, concerts and performances.
The studios are located in buildings in the city that have been vacant for several years, for example in the old courthouse, which the association is gradually renovating and reviving. The Kulturhof in Kalbe is a central meeting place and event location.
