Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – According to its own statements, the Magdeburg city administration saved almost 20 percent of thermal energy in the fourth quarter of 2022. Compared to the same period last year, around twelve percent less electricity was consumed, the state capital announced on Friday. “In addition to the consistent reduction in room temperatures, optimization of the building services and the support of our building services engineers, the energy officers in the administration and external energy consultants have also contributed,” explained Mayor Simone Borris (independent). The closing days at the turn of the year would also have played a not inconsiderable part in the savings effect.
