Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – There are more and more cars in Saxony-Anhalt and the mileage per car is decreasing. In 2011, an average of 510 cars per 1,000 residents were registered. In 2021, the number had risen to 561, said the Saxony-Anhalt State Motor Vehicle Association on Wednesday, with reference to information from the Federal Statistical Office and the Federal Motor Transport Authority. This increase of ten percent is also due to a nationwide trend towards second cars. The mileage per car decreases. At the moment, a car is driven around 12,250 kilometers a year in Saxony-Anhalt. Two years ago, the value was 12,480 kilometers.
