Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – Around 920 trainees will start their vocational training on August 1st in the craft businesses in the north of Saxony-Anhalt. That is a good ten percent more than a year ago and about as many trainees as on August 1, 2019. “The pre-corona level is coming into view,” said Hagen Mauer, President of the Magdeburg Chamber of Crafts, on Tuesday. But the search for future professionals continues. Wall called for a turnaround in education. Accordingly, the equivalence of professional and academic education must become a reality. It is important to attract more young people to dual training. The background to this is that school leavers are more likely to opt for a course of study than for vocational training.
