Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – The 42-year-old pastor Christian Kobert is responsible for rejuvenating the Magdeburg cathedral chapter. Kobert from the parish of Haldensleben was ceremoniously introduced as a canon, the Magdeburg diocese announced on Monday. The cathedral chapter – also known as the cathedral chapter – supports the bishop as an independent legal entity in the management of the diocese. According to the information, the Magdeburg committee consists of the cathedral provost, four cathedral canons living in Magdeburg and three members from other regions of the diocese. One of the most important tasks after the resignation or death of a bishop is to elect the interim diocesan administrator and to submit to the pope a list of candidates for the bishopric.
