Halle (dpa/sa) – According to experts, the labor market in Saxony-Anhalt remains robust despite the current crises. There are currently no signs of a significant increase in unemployment, as a spokesman for the regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency said. The authority will publish the figures for November on Wednesday (10 a.m.). Around 77,600 unemployed were registered in Saxony-Anhalt in mid-October. The unemployment rate was 7.1 percent.
According to experts at the Nuremberg Institute for Labor Market and Vocational Research (IAB), a stable labor market helps to avoid a serious recession. In addition, in view of the population development, companies are still looking for skilled workers for the future. According to forecasts, more people are retiring in Saxony-Anhalt than young people are entering the labor market.
