Halle (dpa/sa) – Saxony-Anhalt is funding the construction of 2 new buildings for the technology and start-up center (TGZ) Halle with a total of 74 million euros. Economics Minister Sven Schulze (CDU) handed over the relevant funding decisions on Monday, as a spokeswoman for the ministry announced. In the coming years, young companies from various sectors such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical and environmental technology, chemistry and bioeconomy are to settle at the Weinberg Campus location. According to the spokeswoman, around 1,000 jobs could be created. The total investment volume is around 78 million euros. The country shoulders 95 percent of the investments.
Among other things, an innovation center for companies in the start-up and early stages will be built in the Weinberg Campus technology park by 2025. The ministry spokeswoman explained that there should be “ideal starting conditions” for companies that “focus on the development of digital business models”.
