Leipzig (dpa/sa) – The year is coming to an end in Saxony-Anhalt on a mild, rainy and windy note. A meteorologist from the German Weather Service in Leipzig said it could only become more wintry from mid-January. There is no more snow anywhere.
On Monday afternoon the rain will pull away south of the Börde. After temperatures of ten to twelve degrees, the values ??drop to one to three degrees on Tuesday night, and slight minus degrees are also possible in the Harz Mountains. A gusty wind is blowing, severe gusts of wind are also possible on the Brocken. Already on the night of the second holiday, the gusts on the highest mountain in the north reached hurricane-like wind speeds of up to 106 kilometers per hour – that corresponds to wind force eleven.

A few snow showers are possible in the Upper Harz Mountains, but will later turn to rain. Wind picks up on the northern edge of the Harz and in the south, which can grow into a severe storm on the Brocken.
