Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – This week, the Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg welcomes around 2000 new students who are starting their first semester. The university announced this on Wednesday. At the beginning of the 2022/23 winter semester, more than 12,300 women and men were enrolled in over 80 study programs. According to the information, the proportion of international students is almost 30 percent.
These enrollment numbers are provisional. The university announced that final statistics would not be available until the end of October. The new students will be ceremonially welcomed on Thursday.
Founded in October 1993, the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg is one of the youngest universities in Germany. Around 200 professors teach and research at nine faculties.
