Plauen (dpa/sn) – The Free State of Saxony is giving ten million euros to the city and transport companies for the new construction of the Elster Bridge in Plauen. Secretary of State for Transport Ines Fröhlich handed over a corresponding notification of funding on Monday. The Ministry of Transport announced that the previous bridge over the Weiße Elster was no longer permanently stable. There is a “quick action needed”. Of the funding, 5.9 million euros will go to the city of Plauen for the construction of the new bridge. The transport company will receive 4.1 million euros for the associated tram systems.
