Chemnitz (dpa/sn) – Because he is said to have committed a series of thefts in Aue-Bad Schlema (Erzgebirskreis), Schwarzenberg and Zwickau, a man is in custody. As the police announced on Thursday, the 39-year-old was arrested in Zwickau on Wednesday and brought before a judge who issued an arrest warrant. The investigation into the alleged thief initially continued. It must be clarified how many crimes he has committed. Witnesses and victims had recognized him on photos.
The man is accused, among other things, of having stolen personal items from a sacristy during a service on New Year’s Eve in Aue-Bad Schlema. He is said to have stolen money and other things from the rectory with the keys he obtained. In January, he is also said to have stolen wallets, cash and keys from the lounges of two physiotherapy practices and a hairdressing salon, which he used to steal money and valuables from apartments. He is said to have been questioned in January, but this apparently did not stop him from committing further crimes.
