Dresden (dpa/sn) – With the new double budget for 2023 and 2024, Saxony will use up almost all of its financial reserves. “In any case, nothing can be intercepted by reserves,” said Finance Minister Hartmut Vorjohann (CDU) on Monday when the budget was introduced in the state parliament. That’s why he would have wished for “a little more restraint in spending, at least in one place or another, so that he still had a nest egg up his sleeve.” The minister appealed to the MPs to increase the budget equalization reserve as soon as possible, as soon as the situation permits.
