Dresden (dpa/sn) – In Saxony, starting next week, people can be vaccinated against Corona without an appointment at the German Red Cross (DRK). The regulation should apply in all of its own vaccination centers from November 7th, as announced by the DRK. The aim was to make a flexible vaccination offer available to everyone who made spontaneous decisions without booking online, it said on Friday.
According to the DRK, since the release of the new vaccine, which has been adapted to the currently circulating sublines BA.4/BA.5, significantly more vaccinations have been carried out in Saxony than in September. Recently, however, the number of weekly vaccinations has decreased: from around 3750 vaccinations in the third week of October to around 3250 vaccinations in the fourth week of October.
