Görlitz (dpa/sn) – Three trucks collided on Tuesday afternoon in front of a construction site on the A4 Dresden-Görlitz motorway near Salzenforst (Bautzen district). According to the Görlitz police department on Wednesday, the drivers were injured, one of them seriously. While the two trucks in front stopped at the end of the traffic jam, the semi-trailer truck behind drove up unbraked and pushed the vehicles on top of each other. The 47-year-old at the wheel was trapped and flown to a clinic by a rescue helicopter. The driver of the other semitrailer, a 27-year-old, was unharmed. The 51-year-old from the middle vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The autobahn was closed for around six hours and only one lane was passable in the evening.
