Leipzig (dpa / sn) – The University Hospital Leipzig (UKL) has put three new operating rooms into operation. The UKL announced that the clinic now has the most modern operating theaters in central Germany. In them, innovative hybrid device technology enables the use of imaging methods directly during the intervention. In connection with so-called navigation techniques, the prerequisites for computer-assisted high-precision surgery at the UKL have been created.
The new operating rooms are located in a newly built wing of the UKL, which expands the central operating room area, the hospital explained. The construction was financed with 30 million euros by the Free State of Saxony. Science Minister Sebastian Gemkow (CDU) opened the halls on Tuesday afternoon.
