Dresden (dpa / sn) – Volleyball Bundesliga team Dresdner SC will continue to rely on their own offspring in the future. A few days before the start of preparations for the new season, outside attacker Julia Wesser received her first professional contract with the six-time German champions. The 19-year-old from Dresden, who was trained in the DSC talent factory of the VC Olympia, signed on Wednesday for two years.
The 1.95 m tall attacker trained with the first division team last season and was able to prove her talent in several games. In early summer, the sports high school student also successfully passed her Abitur and now wants to focus entirely on her volleyball career.
DSC head coach Alexander Waibl explained: “I think Julia is a very talented player. However, we still have to give her some time before she can call up her actual performance potential.”
