Dresden (dpa/sn) – Winter in Saxony is noticeable with snowfall and permafrost. As reported by the German Weather Service in Leipzig, the temperatures will remain below freezing this Saturday at minus 2 to 0 degrees, even during the day. The night before, it was down to minus 10 degrees in the high valleys of the Ore Mountains. In Deutschneudorf minus 10.3 and on the Fichtelberg minus 10 degrees were measured. Two to three centimeters of fresh snow fell in the Erzgebirge and Vogtland.
On Sunday night it will be bitterly cold again with minus 5 to minus 10 degrees. But it stays dry. On Sunday, the 0 degree mark will be reached, especially in northern Saxony, the Leipzig region and Upper Lusatia. Then it slowly gets warmer again. In the night to Monday it will be slippery on the roads at minus 2 to plus 1 as well as snow, sleet or freezing rain. From Tuesday, the zero degrees will be exceeded again in the mountains.
