Zwickau (dpa/sn) – With concerts, a film night and a romantic evening of lights, Zwickau will be celebrating the Schumann Festival in the coming days. The occasion is the 212th birthday of the composer Robert Schumann (1810-1856), who was born in Zwickau, on June 8th. The program includes a total of 23 events, as the city announced on Wednesday. At the opening concert on Thursday, Schumann’s Spanish love songs and the love song waltzes of his contemporary Johannes Brahms will be heard. On Friday (June 3rd) there will be music at various stations around the Schwanenteich, including a performance by the rock band Stern Meissen.
