Whether it’s Tesla, SpaceX or Twitter – Elon Musk is good for a lot of headlines. His private life with changing partners and a total of seven offspring is also turbulent. However, one of his children is now giving him the cold shoulder.

It’s easy to get confused about the companies and business projects that Elon Musk has his hands on. In his private life, however, it is not much different. He is currently in something of an on-off relationship with singer Grimes. Behind the 50-year-old are, among other things, an affair with Amber Heard and three marriages with two women.

Musk was married to Canadian writer Justine Wilson from 2000 to 2008. From this marriage came six children – all boys. However, the first son died of sudden infant death. The other five sons were born as twins or triplets.

Musk tied the knot with British actress Talulah Riley in 2010. The divorce followed in 2012, but only to remarry a year later. In 2014 it was supposed to be over again, but the divorce was reversed before the childless marriage finally broke up in 2016.

Musk started dating Grimes in 2018. With her he now has another son and a daughter. Whether the two are actually a couple is apparently decided from day to day. “There’s no real word for it. I would probably call him my partner, but we’re very changeable,” Grimes said in an interview with Vanity Fair around March. In other words, relationship status is complicated.

Against this background, it is understandable when Musk’s 18-year-old daughter is mentioned. She is one of the children of the entrepreneur’s marriage to Justine Wilson. Former Xavier Alexander Musk has declared he is transgender and has asked the court to change his gender from male to female. This emerges from documents quoted by the Reuters news agency.

But not only that. The 18-year-old also wants to push through a new name. “I no longer want to live or be associated with my biological father in any way, shape or form,” she said in an interview with Reuters. The corresponding application was filed with a court in Los Angeles in April.

What the young woman would like to be called in the future cannot be reported, Reuters explains. The name was blacked out in the documents available to the agency. There is also no information about what led to the child’s falling out with his father. Neither Musk himself nor his lawyers or company spokesman were willing to make a statement.

Nevertheless, Reuters points to an interesting coincidence: in May, just shortly after the requested gender reassignment and name change, Elon Musk expressed his sympathy for the Republican Party. This is also committed to restricting transgender rights in the United States.
