The Thai police continue with the investigation against the Spanish Daniel Sancho for the murder of the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta and have questioned him again this Wednesday in the prison on the island of Samui (south), where he is in provisional detention, Efe has confirmed. .

However, the Thai agents have been quite clear for days and consider that Sancho murdered and dismembered Arrieta in a premeditated way and then disposed of the body, although he confessed that the death was accidental. This Tuesday they announced that they will request the death penalty for the Spanish chef, based on the evidence found.

The first of them, the confession. Daniel Sancho confessed to having murdered his friend because he wanted to leave the relationship and the police assure that the forensic report confirms that it was him. He even helped in the reconstruction of the events.

“The victim had stabbing marks on the right side of the chest, Royal Police Deputy Director Surachate Hakparn said yesterday. Photos of the holed shirt were provided at the press conference.

Photos of the reconstruction of the events were also shown, in which a man lying down follows Sancho’s instructions, which specifies where he placed the body and the sequence of events, from the blow to the head against the sink to the dismemberment.

They could also see the photos of the bags with the remains of Arrieta that the police rescued from the landfill, those of the underwear that the Colombian was supposedly wearing and the photographs of Sancho buying the knives in a supermarket. The ticket for that purchase, found in one of the bags at the Koh Phangan landfill where the first remains appeared, was the first clue for the police.

The police also showed the photos of Sancho and Arrieta on a motorcycle after his arrival on the island and the photographs of the Spanish chef carrying a blue bag that supposedly contained the remains of the Colombian surgeon.
