The Spanish health authorities are processing the withdrawal from the market of a batch of Gerblé brand gluten-free chocolate chip cookies for being contaminated with the drug known as burundanga and traces of the medicine atropine.
According to the alert from the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan), it is batch 51914913 from France and has already been distributed throughout Spain, with an expiration date of 09/20/2023, in a cardboard package of 150 grams and sold at room temperature
Catalonia has been the first autonomy to notify the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (Sciri) of the contamination of these cookies with traces of the well-known drug and medication.
The authorities recommend that people who have products affected by this alert at home refrain from consuming them.
The company itself has communicated the incidence to the competent authorities, in compliance with the legislation and in order not to make unsafe food available to the population.
