Erfurt (dpa/th) – According to the organizers, the number of visitors to the Reise und Caravan trade fair has exceeded the expectations. Around 28,000 people came to the Erfurt exhibition center on the last weekend in October to find out about current travel trends. This is about 55 percent more than in 2021, the fair announced on Monday. With this result, it was possible to build on the number of visitors in the years before the start of the corona pandemic. The organizers had therefore expected around 20,000 people.
Almost 300 exhibitors presented themselves in the three exhibition halls and on the outdoor area. According to the information, the latest models of camper trailers and motorhomes attracted particular interest. More than 200 vehicles were exhibited. According to a survey conducted by the organizer, every second visitor came to the trade fair because they were interested in buying a motorhome. Another quarter was interested in rental motorhomes.
Even before Corona, Die Reise und Caravan was one of the trade fairs in Thuringia with the most visitors. In 2020 and 2021 it could only be held with restrictions due to the pandemic.
