Heringen/Helme (dpa/th) – Hedge broken through, car hit, house wall damaged – An evasive maneuver in front of a cat ended in Heringen/Helme with high property damage for a 19-year-old driver. The young man was on a rain-soaked street in the Windehausen district on Sunday morning when a street crossed the cat, the police said.
The 19-year-old braked, lost control of the car and then the accident took its course: As a result, his car broke through a hedge and crashed into a parked car. The force of the impact threw the parked car against a courtyard gate and a front door. The two vehicles, wedged together, scraped along the wall of the house in the district of Nordhausen until they finally came to a standstill. The young man was unharmed in the accident and the cat survived the evasive maneuver. The total amount of property damage was initially unclear. However, damage of around 20,000 euros was caused to the two cars alone.
