Weimar (dpa/th) – On Wednesday (9.00 a.m.) the constitutional court in Weimar will deal with the financing and the parliamentary rights of the FDP group in the Thuringian state parliament. The reason is a lawsuit by the FDP, which lost its parliamentary group status after the resignation of a member of parliament. Instead of the minimum of five MPs required, it now only has four members. After the state parliament decision on their group status, the FDP feels that its rights under the Thuringian constitution have been violated. Thuringia’s constitutional judges want to find out whether this is the case in an oral hearing. A judgment is not expected until later.
