Eisenach (dpa/th) – The Eisenach Christmas market is scheduled to open on November 21 without restrictions – despite the current energy crisis. “Where war, inflation and energy crisis burden people, the beautiful experiences and moments should not be neglected. Visiting the Christmas market with family and friends is such an experience,” said Mayor Katja Wolf (left) on Tuesday in Eisenach.
Also in view of the premature demolition last year, an implementation is an important sign and a support in “economically difficult times”, said Henry Arzig as organizer. And so guests can look forward to a Ferris wheel, a three-story Christmas pyramid and various rides and stands. In total, more than 40 exhibitors and dealers will be there. However, the guests would have to do without a stage program in 2022. A Christmas program is only planned for the castle tower.
Eisenach had decided to have a Christmas market in the previous year despite the increasing number of corona infections, but had to close it again shortly after it started after the state of Thuringia had banned Christmas markets. According to the city, Arzig will have the right to withdraw from the contract this year in the event that a mask requirement or a fence in the marketplace is required as part of infection protection.
Construction is scheduled to begin on November 12th. Two days before the Christmas tree is to be set up on the market square. The Christmas market is scheduled to last until December 21 this year.
