Erfurt (dpa/th) – A heavily drunk man shot himself with a blank pistol in Erfurt. A witness heard a shot on Wednesday afternoon and then saw a man with a gun in his hand on the street, police said on Thursday. Alarmed police officers caught the man and secured the pistol. A rifle and a revolver were found in the 47-year-old’s apartment and confiscated. Since the man could not produce a small firearms license, he was charged with violating the Weapons Act. An alcohol test revealed 2.2 parts per thousand breath alcohol, as it was said.
