Brotterode/Kölleda/Heiligenstadt (dpa/th) – After the first warning strikes in the metal and electrical industry in other federal states, the IG Metall trade union has now also announced temporary work stoppages in Thuringia. On Tuesday, she called on employees from the automotive supplier industry in Kölleda, Brotterode and Heiligenstadt to go on warning strikes.
With the deficits, IG Metall wants to put pressure on the employers’ side in the ongoing wage negotiations. The union demands 8 percent more money for a term of 12 months. Among other things, the employers have promised a tax and duty-free inflation compensation premium of 3,000 euros and a later, as yet unspecified increase in the salary scales.
So far, according to union information, around 1,700 employees from five companies in the IG Metall district in Mitte have taken part in warning strikes in the metal and electrical industry. The district includes the federal states of Hesse, Thuringia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.
