Halle/Erfurt (dpa/th) – The regional directorate of Saxony-Anhalt-Thuringia of the Federal Employment Agency will present the Thuringian unemployment figures for June on Thursday (10 a.m.). The Thuringian labor market had recently recovered significantly. However, if the war in Ukraine escalates further and energy supplies from Russia are stopped, labor market experts fear that there will also be negative effects on the employment situation.
In May, 53,500 men and women in Bavaria were unemployed, 1,700 fewer than in the previous month. Unemployment was thus also well below the value of 2019. The unemployment rate fell to 4.9 percent. Thuringia thus had the lowest rate among the eastern states.
