Erfurt (dpa/th) – Thuringia’s industry continues to post a strong increase in sales. From January to October, the industrial companies generated revenues of 3.9 billion euros and thus 14.3 percent more than in the same period last year, as the State Statistical Office announced on Friday in Erfurt. The reason for the growth is strong price increases. Price-adjusted sales increased by 1.7 percent.
According to the statisticians, almost all sectors were able to increase sales. Only in the manufacture of motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts and the repair and installation of machines and equipment did sales collapse. On average, 143,151 people were employed in Thuringia’s industry, almost 2,200 more than in the same period last year.
