Erfurt (dpa/th) – In Thuringia, slightly more business registrations than deregistrations were counted in the first eight months of the current year. As the State Office for Statistics announced on Thursday in Erfurt, there were 7401 registrations compared to 6845 cancellations. 81.5 percent of the registrations were start-ups of commercial enterprises. This continued the trend of the previous months.

The statisticians pointed out that with 2,115 women, there were 2.1 percent more start-ups than in the same period last year (January to August 2021: 2,072 women). 72.3 percent of women founding a business would have become self-employed as a part-time job, for men the proportion was 58.4 percent.
