Erfurt (dpa/th) – Last year, the Thuringian Volunteer Foundation funded 484 clubs with a total of more than one million euros. This emerges from a statement from the foundation on Friday. The program “Aktiv vor Ort” supports voluntary work by associations and initiatives in rural areas with up to 5,000 euros.
The money goes, among other things, into expense allowances, fees for workshop leaders, further training, running costs, the purchase of sports equipment and digitization measures. “We now know that large leverage can be achieved even with small sums,” said Niels Lange, Managing Director of the Thuringian Volunteer Foundation, according to the announcement. The foundation received 744 applications.
The “Aktiv vor Ort” funding program was launched in 2021. At that time there was funding of 900,000 euros. The money comes from the state of Thuringia.
