Erfurt (dpa/th) – The people of Thuringia as well as clubs, associations and bodies responsible for public affairs can still participate in the state development program until March 17th. Statements can be submitted directly to an online platform, the Thuringian Ministry of Infrastructure announced on Thursday. With the state development program, Thuringia wants to make a contribution to the energy transition, among other things, federal guidelines for the expansion of wind power on land are to be implemented.
According to the ministry, Thuringia must set aside 2.2 percent of its land area for wind energy areas by 2032 – that’s around 35,600 hectares. Currently, only about 0.6 percent of the country’s area is designated as a priority area for wind energy.
